- 1. Do I need to register as member in order to make a purchase?
- Yes. You need to register as member to buy in Hugabu. Membership is free.
- 2. Why do you need mobile number and address? I do not feel comfortable giving so much personal information.
- We need your contact details and address for confirming and delivering your orders. Please rest assured that we have a non-disclosure policy for your personal information. We will not be revealing your information to any other third party without your authorization. See our privacy policy
- 3. Why can't I log in after I had registered?
- It could be that your account is not ready yet. Once it is ready, you will receive a validation email to activate your account. It could also be due to incorrect password and username. Note: Both username and password are case sensitive.
- 4. What is my username?
- You determine your own username. It is recommended that you chose one that is easy to remember.
- 5. What is my password?
- You determine your own password. It is recommended that you use one that has a combination of both alphabets and numbers.
- 6. Are both the username and password case sensitive?
- Yes. Both your username and password are case senstive.
- 7. What is your pricing policy?

All listed prices are NETT, inclusive of GST. No other additional charges will be imposed on the listed price.

- 9. Do you accept order and delivery services outside Singapore territories?

No, currently we are only serving the local market. However you can email us at service@hugabu.com for enquires.
- 10. What mode of payment do you accept?

We accept online payment. Our payment service provider is Paypal.
- 11. Is my payment online secure?

Our payment service provider is Paypal. Once you decide to make a purchase, you will be directed to Paypal webiste. Your financial information is securely handled by Paypal server and Hugabu.com will not be able to access to your financial information.

BUYING PROCESS
The main purpose of Hugabu is to create a platform for people to purchase products through the group buying concept, which eventually results in savings for everyone. However, not everyone would like to group buy and wait for his or her products.
In view of this, there are 3 methods of purchasing on Hugabu.com
- First, purchase like any other online website. If you see the product you want, just click on the "Add to Cart" and purchase directly. Pay through our secure online payment mode and we will deliver the product to you within 7 working days.
- Second, you can initiate or join a group buy by clicking on the "Group Buy" option. Once the Group Buy option is activated, you will notice the size of the group and the number of days. The Group will be open for 3 days for others interested buyers to group together. The group will close automatically after three days or when there are a maximum number of 15 people in the group. The degree of discount on the product will be dependent on the number of people in the group when it closes.
- Lastly, if you cannot find what you want, you can enter the product (with the model and details) in your WISHLIST. Hugabu will try to match your desired product with other members and get back to you within two weeks.
- 13. What if I decide to withdraw after joining the pool?

The price of the item correlates with the size of the Group. As such you are strongly discouraged to withdraw from the Group. This will affect the Group size and the final price. When you join a Group Buy, you are required to pay an administrative fee. This administrative fee range between SGD$25 to SGD$200, depending on the cost of the product. When the Group Buy closes, you just have to pay the remaining of the discounted price.

A printer cost $650. Alex joined the Group Buy and pays an administrative fee (for this illustration, SGD$50). After three days, the Group closes and the discounted price of the printer is $620. Alex needs to pay $570 only. ($620 - $50)
- 14. What if I initiate a Group Buy and after three days, no one join the Group Buy with me? It seems compelling for me to pay an administrative fee when I did not know how many people would join the Group Buy.

To encourage Group Buying mentality, a discount will be given to anyone who initiates a Group Buy. As such, even if there is no one joining the Group after three days, the person who initiates the Group Buy will get a discount from us.
Consider this
You walked into an electronic mega store and saw a computer, which suits your needs. You asked for a discount but the sales assistant was unable to give you a single dollar of discount as the price is fixed. He or She will probably tell you it is already discounted or the price is fixed. Do you agree? If you "Group Buy" at Hugabu, you can get savings just because someone else want to buy a product which you want too. The monetary saving you get at Hugabu is more than what you think when you consider the time and effort you spend on travelling to and fro to buy from an electronic store.
- 15. What is "Top of the chart"?
- "Top of the Chart" shows the most popular product for the past one month in various categories according to the number of people indicating in their WISHLIST. When there are more people asking for the same items, it will be easier to obtain it.
- 16. What are the things I can get from Hugabu?
- You can get a variety of products and services at the Promotion and Lifestyle pages. Our sales team is always keeping a lookout for new services and products to serve you better. As for community bulk buying, currently the items are limited to electronics items, mainly laptops and digital cameras. The reason is simple. Electronic goods are quite standard. Once you have identified the electronic item you want, the other deciding factor will be the price.
- 17. What if I do not see the product I want?
- Not all the products are displayed on the website. If you cannot find the product you want, you can either indicate in your WISHLIST or email us at service@hugabu.com.
- 18. How cheap is the product going to be?
- We have come across remarks like, " Only 30 dollars cheaper? I thought it would be like half price!" Realistically speaking, we cannot sell it like the 50 cents durians in Geylang. Every item has a certain manufacturing cost. However, with the power of community bulk buying, it is only logical that you will be paying a better price than buying individually.The final price depends on you. (NOTE: Every item has a certain manufacturing cost. It is unrealistic to expect it to be suddenly priced half of its original retail price just because all of us pool together to buy something.)
- 19. Is there any product warranty for your products?

Yes. They come with full local warranty.
- 20. What is a WISHLIST?
- If you cannot find an item on the website, you can enter it in the WISHLIST. Hugabu will pool it with other buyer with the same request. In the event when there are no buyer with the same request as you, Hugabu will contact you on the price and availability of the product you requested for.
